Welcome to the Weinhold lab!
We are active in Bioorganic Chemistry/Chemical Biology and focus on development of new molecular tools for genomics and proteomics. These tools are often based on synthetic S-adenosyl-L-methionine analogues and methyltransferases, a class of enzymes that methylates various substrates like DNA, RNA, proteins and small molecules and serves a broad variety of biological functions ranging from metabolism to epigenetics. Our work involves organic synthesis, biochemical methods and molecular biology techniques. For more about us and our research or if you are interested in joining us just take a look around or get in contact with us.
